Ingredients

  • turkey giblets
  • 2 c. water (broth or milk)
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. turkey drippings
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. meat or poultry drippings
  • 1 1/2 c. water (milk or half and half)
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper

Method

  • Pour drippings in 4-cup measure or 1-quart casserole. Microwave on High (100%) for 30 to 45 seconds until bubbly.
  • Mix together cornstarch, salt, pepper and water until smooth.
  • Stir into drippings.
  • Microwave on High (100%) for 4 to 6 minutes or until thickened.
  • Stir occasionally to prevent lumps.
  • Serve immediately over meat, potatoes or dressing.
