Ingredients

  • 16 c. flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. yeast
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. very warm water
  • processed cheese, cut into 1 to 2 oz. pieces

Method

  • Mix yeast, 1/4 cup sugar and warm water and set aside.
  • Mix flour, eggs, butter, shortening and remaining sugar.
  • Add yeast mixture, knead with dough hook for 5 minutes.
  • Cover in warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  • Wrap dough around cheese for individual puffs.
  • Let rise, spread with butter, bake until golden brown and spread with butter again.
