Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 3 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon rind
  • 4 eggs

Method

  • Stir yeast into warm water.
  • Mix in 1 cup flour.
  • Set in warm place until bubbly (30 minutes).
  • In a large bowl, mix butter, sugar and flavorings until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs, then add yeast mixture; blend in rest of flour.
  • Pour into a greased 10-inch tube pan.
  • Let rise until batter is 1/4-inch from top.
  • Bake at 375° for 50 to 60 minutes.
