Ingredients

  • 1 c. celery, chopped
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. peas (frozen)
  • 3/4 tsp. sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 c. raw cashews
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. McKay's chicken style instant broth
  • 2 Tbsp. sesame seed, toasted*

Method

  • Saute the vegetables in 2 tablespoons water and sesame oil until crispy tender.
  • Put the remaining ingredients into a blender and process on high speed for 3 to 5 minutes or until the sauce is very smooth.
  • Cook the sauce mixture with the sauteed vegetables on medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  • Add 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, including liquid.
  • Serve sauce on rice, mashed potatoes or noodles.
