Ingredients

  • 3 c. milk
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • peanut butter

Method

  • Combine milk, sugar, cocoa, butter, vanilla and salt.
  • Bring to a boil at medium-high temperature for approximately 25 minutes, testing by drops of this mixture into a cold cup of water.
  • When it forms a soft ball stage, remove from heat.
  • Pour mixture into 2 (9 x 9 x 2-inch) buttered glass pans, stirring into each pan 1/2 cup peanut butter.
  • Chill.
  • Cut in squares.
  • Store in refrigerator.
