Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 6 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 sticks cold unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp. Splenda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 8 tbsp. (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Method

  • Combine dough ingredients in food processor until ball forms. Refrigerate at least one hour, or overnight.
  • Mix ingredients for filling together, blending well.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On floured surface, roll dough into 12" X 12" square; cut into smaller 2 1/2" squares. Place rounded teaspoon of filling in center of each square. Bring two opposite corners of the square together over filling and twist to seal.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake about 20 minutes.
