Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk or cream
- 4 or 5 Tbsp. cocoa or 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Put sugar, milk and cocoa or chocolate into saucepan.
- Stir and boil until it makes a soft ball when tested in cold water. Take from heat; add butter and vanilla.
- Cool.
- Stir until creamy.
- Pour on buttered plate and cut into squares.
- May be changed by omitting cocoa or chocolate and adding peanut butter with the butter and vanilla.
- Also may add a teaspoon of peanut butter with the butter and vanilla in the chocolate mixture, making it creamier and a deliciously different flavor.
