Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 9/16 tablespoon dried yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil + 1 tsp for brushing
  • 2 kiwi fruit peeled and sliced
  • 1 7/16 cups cherries stoned
  • 2 nectarines stoned removed and cut into chunks
  • 3 1/4 cups watermelon cut into thick slices
  • 1 cup cherry juice
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 3 1/8 cups mineral water

Method

  • To make the pastry, mix the flour with the yeast, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add 3 tablespoons of the oil and 1/2 cup of lukewarm water, and mix in a food processor with a dough hook. Next, knead the mixture with your hands until the dough is smooth. Cover the bowl and put in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
  • Put the prepared fruit in a large bowl. Pour over the juices and refrigerate.
  • To make the breadsticks, take the dough out of the bowl and knead, then divide into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a long, thin strip of about 1 foot long, then wrap each one around a wooden skewer and refrigerate for about 15 mins.
  • Brush the pastry skewers with a little olive oil, then put them under the broiler on medium heat for 12-15 mins, turning. Meanwhile, add the mineral water to the fruit and juice. Serve the fruit salad with a breadstick on the side
