Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg (beat in 1 c. milk)

Method

  • Sift
  • together dry ingredients; cut in shortening.
  • Add egg beaten in milk to dry ingredients. Knead lightly and wrap tightly in plastic
  • bag.
  • Chill
  • in
  • refrigerator at least 2 hours. Roll
  • dough
  • thin; fill
  • with
  • cold
  • fruit (canned or dried). Fry in cooking oil on medium heat until brown on both sides. (Pies should be a half-moon shape.)
