Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 pinch onion powder
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar, divided
  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 1 cup sugar

Method

  • Combine the egg, in a sturdy bowl with the salt, all of the seasonings, and a little bit of the vinegar.
  • Beat till creamy and smooth, and the salt has dissolved.
  • Add the oil in a slow, steady stream, until the mixture thickens, then add more, until absorbed.
  • Stir in the remaining vinegar, and all of the sugar.
  • If preferred, the sugar, can be measured, and then ground in a food processor, for a smoother consistency, however, once it is added, to the fruit, it will desolve, on contact.
