Ingredients

  • 4 onions, sliced
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 4 (10 oz.) cans Campbell's beef bouillon
  • 1 c. dry white wine
  • salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 8 slices French bread, toasted
  • Swiss cheese

Method

  • Saute onions in butter for 30 minutes.
  • Add flour.
  • Stir for 1 minute.
  • Add broth, wine, salt and pepper.
  • Bring to boil, then simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Pour soup in bowls.
  • Add 1 slice toasted bread to each and top with Swiss cheese.
  • Broil until cheese bubbles.
