Ingredients
- 3 to 4 medium onions
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed beef broth
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- sliced French bread
- shredded Swiss or Mozzarella cheese
Method
- Cook onions which have been thinly sliced (3 cups) in butter until slightly brown (about 15 minutes).
- Add beef broth, water and Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Put into bowls.
- Put one piece toasted French bread on top and cover with cheese.
- Broil until slightly brown.
