Ingredients
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1/3 c. butter
- salt or garlic salt and pepper
- 2 to 4 Tbsp. flour
- 4 cans beef broth (Campbell's or Swanson)
- approximately 3 c. water
- garlic bread or French bread
- grated Mozzarella cheese
Method
- Peel and cut onions into very thin slices.
- Cook onion slices in butter over very low heat.
- Add salt and pepper according to taste.
- Sprinkle in flour, stirring constantly to thicken butter/onion mixture.
- Slowly add beef broth and water, then bring to boil.
- Simmer with pan covered for 20 to 30 minutes.
