- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 sq. unsweetened Baker's chocolate, melted
- 1 2/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Method
- Cream together brown sugar and shortening.
- Add to creamed mixture the egg and milk.
- Mix well.
- Add remaining ingredients. Mix well.
- Drop by teaspoons on cookie sheet; bake at 350° until they spring back when touched lightly.
- Time depends on how small you make the cookies.
- Ice with white icing if desired when cooled.
