Ingredients
- 3/4 c. soft shortening
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 3 c. oats (uncooked)
Method
- Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy.
- Sift flour, salt and soda; add to cream mixture and blend well.
- Stir in oats; drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
