- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder

Method
- Scald in pan the milk, sugar and shortening.
- Let cool. Dissolve yeast in water and add to milk mixture.
- Add enough flour to make a thin batter.
- You can use a mixture for this part.
- Cover and set aside until double in size.
- Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda.
- Two cups of flour will be good at this time.
- You may have to add more to make a soft dough consistency. You may store this in refrigerator a couple of days, but make sure your container is much larger than the dough mixture and is oiled and covered tightly.
