Ingredients

  • 3 lbs ground beef
  • 1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 quart Ragu tomato sauce
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 12 lb mozzarella cheese
  • 12 lb provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 lb ricotta cheese
  • 1 large lasagna noodle

Method

  • Brown ground beef with the onions, then mix first 13 ingredients & cook for 3 hours, then assemble lasagna as per below:.
  • Cover bottom of the dish with sauce then layer noodles, ricotta, sauce.
  • Repeat two times, then top with provolone, sauce then mozzarella.
  • Bake at 350 until cheese is brown -- about 45 minute.
  • Let stand 20 minutes before serving.
