Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 24 graham crackers crushed (the hole pieces, like it has 4 on a cracker,that still one cracker)
  • 1 large can pineapples crush
  • 3/4 cup sugar white
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Method

  • preheat oven at 350 bake on 350 .
  • using oblong cake pan or 2, 9 inch pan, spray with cooking oil or grease pan wirh oil
  • cream sugar and margarine, add egg yolks.mix baking powder with graham crackers and flour, mix vanilla with milk mixture and the dry mixture to the sugar mixture.
  • add nuts, beat egg whites untill it forms a peak, fold in egg whites and nuts, untill well mixed do not beat together, make sure you fold it in well.
  • pour into pan, if using 2 pans evenly divide the mixture.
  • bake for 30 minutes
  • for the topping - can of crushed pineapples (drain half of the juice) and sugars, put into a large saucepan and cook untill it thickens up about 20 minutes.
  • careful not to get any on you ,will burn you.
  • spread topping over cake cut into square pieces.
  • when ready to serve put whipped topping optional.
