Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 egg yolks (1/2 c.)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch cake pan.
  • Sift together and set aside the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Beat in mixing bowl until very thick and lemon colored the egg yolks.
  • Beat in sugar gradually.
  • Blend in slowly on low speed the boiling water and vanilla.
  • Quickly blend in dry ingredients.
  • Pour into pan.
  • Bake until top springs back at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
