Ingredients

  • 3 c. cubed French bread
  • 3 c. ham (1 1/2 lb.), cubed
  • 3 c. cubed cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. milk

Method

  • Butter a large casserole and make three layers each as follows:
  • 1 cup bread crumbs, 1 cup cubed ham and 1 cup cheese. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon flour and 1 tablespoon butter and repeat.
  • Blend eggs, milk, mustard and pepper.
  • Pour over casserole mixture of bread, ham and cheese.
  • Chill 4 hours or overnight.
  • Bake at 350° for one hour.
  • Serve with tossed green salad, roll and dessert.
