Ingredients

  • 1 qt. jar dill pickles, drained
  • 2 1/4 c. white sugar
  • garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. ground allspice

Method

  • Rinse pickles with cold water after taking off juice and drain again.
  • Cut into slices and put in one or more jars.
  • Make syrup with vinegar and sugar.
  • Bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add ground allspice and pour over pickles. Add a clove of garlic to each jar.
  • Put jars in refrigerator. They are ready to eat in 2 days.
