Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. grnd beef
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, minced (optional)
  • 1 (4 ounce.) can mushrooms
  • 1 (15 ounce.) can tomatoes or possibly 3 or possibly 4 med. fresh tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic-powder">garlic salt or possibly garlic pwdr
  • 1/4 teaspoon grnd oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (32 ounce.) jar commercial spaghetti sauce (Prego is best)
  • Salt

Method

  • Salt and brown grnd beef.
  • Drain thoroughly.
  • Over medium heat, add in onion, pepper and tomatoes.
  • Use spoon to cut tomatoes into small pcs.
  • Add in mushrooms, garlic, oregano and Italian seasoning.
  • Turn down heat and let simmer till peppers and onion are done.
  • Stir in jar of sauce.
  • Keep on low heat till ready to serve over cooked spaghetti or possibly other pasta.
  • This will serve 6 to 8 people.
  • Any remaining sauce can be frzn or possibly will keep in the refrigerator for up to a week.
