Ingredients
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
Method
- Combine in large bowl first 4 ingredients; stir until melted. Cool until lukewarm.
- Sprinkle yeast in water; let set 5 to 10 minutes.
- Stir and add to cooled mixture.
- Beat egg and add to mixture.
- Add 2 cups flour; beat well with a spoon.
- Stir in rest of flour slowly.
- Put in bowl and store in refrigerator overnight.
