Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 3/4 c. water
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in 1 c. of the hot water.
  • Sift flour, sugar and salt; then stir in yeast.
  • Add in rest of water, mix.
  • Cover and let rise till double.
  • Punch down.
  • Divide in 2 and place each in a round casserole dish (about 6 inch size).
  • Cover and let rise again.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour.
  • Brush with melted butter before baking.
  • Serve warm with butter.
  • NOTE: Good with soups like Bisque or possibly artichoke, as it is crunchy.
