Ingredients

  • 3 cups Half-and-half
  • 4 ounces, weight Dark Chocolate, Coarsely Chopped
  • 14 ounces, fluid Sweetened, Condensed Milk
  • 1/3 cups Dulce De Leche Caramel

Method

  • Add 1 cup of half-and-half along with chopped chocolate into a small pan over low heat, stirring just until chocolate is melted. Pour into a bowl and mix in remaining half-and-half and sweetened condensed milk, whisking until well combined.
  • Cover and refrigerate 2 hours.
  • Pour into ice cream maker and follow manufacturer's directions. Drop in caramel by 1/4 teaspoonfuls and stir to mix in. Place in an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.
  • Remove from freezer about 10 minutes before ready to serve to allow ice cream to soften slightly.

  • Makes about 1 1/2 quarts.
