Ingredients

  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 lg. can evaporated lowfat milk
  • 3/4 c. dark Karo
  • 7 c. white sugar
  • 3 c. nuts, minced
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

  • In an oven-proof container combine all ingredients except nuts and vanilla.
  • Bake at 275 degrees for 3 hrs and 15 min without a lid.
  • Stir in oven several times during cooking time.
  • Cook to hard ball stage.
  • Let cold 1 hour.
  • Beat with electric mixer for approximately 10 min.
  • Add in nuts and vanilla.
  • Pour into buttered plate.
