Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in syrup
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 to 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter (may need a little more than 1 stick)

Method

  • Grease 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Dump undrained pineapple in pan. Spread evenly.
  • Dump cherry pie filling for second layer and spread evenly.
  • For third layer, add dry yellow cake mix.
  • Spread evenly; pat gently to make even layer.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over cake mix.
  • Slice butter pats evenly over cake mix (may need a little more than 1 stick).
  • Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Serve warm or cool.
  • Top with Cool Whip or ice cream.
