Ingredients

  • 2 loaves frozen wheat bread dough, thawed
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. cornmeal
  • 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
  • 8 oz. sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small green pepper, cut in thin strips
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz.) jar extra thick spaghetti sauce
  • 2 tsp. crushed thyme
  • 1 tsp. crushed fennel seed
  • milk
  • cornmeal

Method

  • Shape each loaf of bread dough into a ball; cover and let rise until nearly double.
  • Punch down, cover and let rest 10 minutes.
