- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. white syrup
- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pkg. cream cheese
- peppermint flavoring
- 1 lb. or less powdered sugar
- food coloring
- 1 1/2 lb. sugar
- 1 lb. raw peanuts
- 1 pt. water
- 1 Tbsp. baking soda
- 3/4 lb. glucose
- 2 oz. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- In a large saucepan, cook sugar, water and glucose until it threads (usually 20 minutes).
- We use a candy thermometer.
- Add butter and peanuts and continue cooking, stirring constantly so peanuts won't stick to the pan.
- When the thermometer shows soft crack, immediately have someone bring in the cold marble and lay it on a large countertop.
- Use butter or cooking spray such as Pam, and grease marble, countertop and forks.
