Ingredients

  • 1 large Bermuda onion
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. dill weed or dill seed
  • 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • liquid no calorie sweetener (6 tsp.) or 1/2 c. sugar

Method

  • Peel and cut onion into thin crosswise slices.
  • Separate into rings.
  • Place in small bowl. Combine vinegar, water, salt, dill weed and sugar in saucepan.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Pour over onion rings; cover tightly and chill at least 1 hour to blend flavors. The liquid can be reheated and used on another onion.
