Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. brown rice
  • 1/2 c. pearl barley
  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. mushroom soup
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 can mushrooms with juice
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce

Method

  • Brown
  • meat and drain off fat (add
  • celery
  • and
  • onions with meat)
  • when
  • browning.
  • Add
  • other ingredients and bake 1 1/2 to 2
  • hours at 350°.
  • Do not add salt until you taste as soy sauce is salty.
  • Add more water if too dry (another cup or so).
  • (Do not precook rice or barley before mixing with meat.)
