Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Karo syrup
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. dates, chopped
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 3/4 c. sifted flour
- powdered sugar
Method
- Beat eggs, salt and almond extract.
- Beat until light. Gradually beat in sugar and syrup.
- Add dates and nuts.
- Mix well. Fold in sifted flour.
- Pour into 2 greased 8-inch square cake pans.
- Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes, until edges are brown. Remove from oven and, while hot, cut into 1 1/2-inch squares. Shape into small balls.
- Roll in powdered sugar.
- Makes 40 cookies.
