- 6 egg yolks
- 6 Tbsp. cold water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
- 6 egg whites
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Beat egg yolks and add cold water and 1/2 cup sugar.
- Beat until thick and lemon colored.
- Fold in flour (1/2 cup) and baking powder.
- Add lemon flavoring.
- Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
- Beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until stiff.
- Add 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour and vanilla.
- Pour over ingredients in tube pan.
- Bake 1 hour at 350°.
