Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1/3 c. raisins
  • 2 ribs sliced celery
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 12 sliced green olives

Method

  • Cut beef into 1-inch cubes.
  • Brown in frying pan.
  • Add remaining ingredients except olives.
  • Cover and simmer 2 hours, or until meat is tender.
  • Can use pressure cooker for 12 minutes instead.
  • Uncover.
  • Simmer until nearly all liquid evaporates. Stir in sliced olives and serve over rice.
