Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour plus a little for rolling out
  • 1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 2 tsp. dill weed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dried mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 4 Tbsp. cold water or as needed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Method

  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, parsley flakes, dill, dry mustard and salt.
  • Add butter and mix until ingredients resemble coarse meal.
  • Sprinkle with cold water 1 tablespoon at a time until mixture is moist enough to leave sides of bowl.
  • Shape into ball and roll out for pie plate.
  • Prick bottom of crust and brush with egg.
  • Cook 10 minutes.
  • Fill with quiche and cook until done in a 400° oven.
