Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. chopped dates
- powdered sugar
Method
- Beat sugar lightly into eggs.
- Do not overmix.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Add flour and baking powder; blend.
- Fold in nuts and dates.
- Spread evenly into a greased 8 x 8-inch or 9 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.
- Cool.
- Cut into bars or sticks; roll in powdered sugar.
- Keeps well; improves with aging.
