Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast (or 1 cake compressed)
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
- 2 tsp. dill seed
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 unbeaten egg
Method
- Soften yeast in water.
- Combine in mixing bowl, cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill, salt, baking soda, egg and yeast.
- Add flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition.
- Cover and let rise in warm place (50 to 60 minutes). Stir down dough and turn into greased 8 inch round casserole (1 1/2 or 2 quart).
- Let rise in warm place until light (30 to 40 minutes).
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Brush with soft butter and sprinkle with salt.
