Ingredients

  • 1 lb. stew beef (lean)
  • 1 large can beef or chicken broth, skim fat
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 1 pkg. mixed vegetables
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c. diced turnip or shredded cabbage

Method

  • Place broth and tomatoes in crock-pot.
  • Start on high. Meanwhile saute beef, onion and pepper.
  • Add frozen vegetables, remaining chopped vegetables and sauteed ingredients.
  • Reduce heat to low setting.
  • Simmer 6 to 8 hours.
  • Serve with crusty bread or biscuits.
