Ingredients

  • 12 cup butter, melted
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 12 lbs loaf dry white bread, broken into small pieces
  • 34 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 34 teaspoon thyme
  • 12 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 well beaten eggs

Method

  • Mix butter, onion, celery, spices, broth and eggs.
  • Add bread which has been broken into small pieces.
  • Put in lightly greased crock pot.
  • Cook on high 45 minutes, then on low about 6 to 7 hours.
  • Stir after the first 45 minutes and again 2 or 3 times during cooking.
  • Do not pack the stuffing when stirring, stir lightly.
