Ingredients

  • 2 lb. Great Northern beans
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 tsp. table salt
  • 1 lb. diced bacon
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 c. brown sugar

Method

  • Soak beans in water for 2 to 4 hours. Drain and rinse beans. Brown diced bacon until medium done. With slotted spoon, remove from grease.
  • Place all ingredients in crock-pot.
  • Add enough water to cover ingredients.
  • Turn crock-pot on high setting until starts to boil, then turn on low setting.
  • Let cook for 8 to 10 hours or until beans are tender.
  • (I start beans the night before and let cook all night.)
