Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. water
  • 4 2/3 c. flour (or 5 c.)

Method

  • Combine warm water with yeast.
  • Add salt, sugar, shortening, eggs, 1 cup water and flour.
  • Mix well and knead well on floured board.
  • Let rise in warm place until double in bulk.
  • Remove to floured board; knead well.
  • Pull off chunks of dough and roll in ball.
  • Place in greased muffin tins.
  • Three cherry-sized balls for each roll.
  • Let rise again until double in bulk.
  • Bake in 425° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
