Ingredients
- 10 flour tortillas (room temperature)
- 2 Granny Smith apples, chopped
- 1/2 c. sugar (more if desired)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 dash nutmeg
- butter (for spreading on tortillas)
- Crisco (for deep frying)
- powdered sugar (for topping)
Method
- Mix apples, cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg.
- Spread each tortilla with butter.
- Put heaping tablespoonful of apple mixture onto tortilla, leaving enough room for folding.
- Fold ends, then roll. Place one fold in hot grease; deep fry until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cooled.
