Ingredients

  • approximately 10 slices raisin bread, torn to make 4 c.
  • 3 c. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • cinnamon

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Butter a 2-quart glass casserole dish. In large bowl, combine bread and milk and let soak.
  • In medium bowl, beat eggs slightly; stir in sugar, butter, vanilla and salt. Add to bread mixture; stir to mix.
  • Pour into dish; sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Bake 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Serve warm with brandy sauce.
