Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cooked (broccoli may also be used)
  • 2 c. cubed canned ham
  • 1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. sharp processed American cheese
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs (1 1/2 slices)

Method

  • In a medium saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter; stir in flour and add milk all at once.
  • Cook until thickens, stirring constantly.
  • Add cheese and sour cream to sauce and stir until cheese melts.
  • Combine with cauliflower, ham and mushrooms.
  • Put in 2-quart casserole. Combine remaining butter (melted) with bread crumbs and sprinkle on top of casserole.
  • Bake uncovered for 40 minutes or until hot.
