Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 qt. water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli, chopped
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. Accent
  • 2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 8 oz. American cheese, shredded
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. cream
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. flour

Method

  • In 3-quart pan, bring water to a boil.
  • Add broccoli and onion and boil 10 minutes.
  • Add seasonings and shredded cheese; stir until melted.
  • Add milk, cream and butter.
  • Stir and heat to boiling.
  • Slowly add water to flour, stirring constantly, until texture is smooth.
  • Slowly add water, stirring rapidly.
  • Cook until soup is consistency of heavy cream.
