Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • dash of salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Soften butter and cream cheese.
  • Cream the butter and cheese together, gradually adding sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add vanilla, flour and salt.
  • Beat until well mixed.
  • Pour batter in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan or 2 loaf pans.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes.
  • Remove from pan and cool on rack.
