Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 6 c. flour

Method

  • Mix water, yeast, oil and salt together and mix well.
  • Add flour; knead very well.
  • Put bowl over dough; let rest 15 minutes. Knead well again and let rise in a warm place (warm oven is fine), about 30 minutes.
  • Knead a little more and divide into 12 balls.
  • Roll 2 balls loosely, like sausage.
  • Put the 2 together and crimp tightly in the middle.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet, sprinkled with cornmeal on bottom.
  • Let rise in warm place, 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or a little more if you want them crispy.
