Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. canned or stewed tomatoes or tomato paste
- whole kernel corn
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. chili sauce
- 1 (15 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained or pinto beans
- cornbread batter
Method
- Combine meat, onion, sugar and chili sauce and saute in butter until meat changes color.
- Add tomatoes and beans and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Place meat mixture in a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
- Spread cornbread batter on top of meat mixture.
- Bake at 425° for 25 minutes or until brown.
