Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground veal
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
- 1 c. uncooked rice
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 1 can tomato soup
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large head cabbage
Method
- Separate leaves from cabbage and preboil them in salt water. Mix all the ingredients except cabbage leaves in a large bowl. Line the bottom of a 9 x 9-inch pan with cabbage leaves.
- Spoon a layer of the meat mixture onto the leaves, then layer again with cabbage leaves and meat mixture.
- Top with cabbage leaves.
- Cover the pan with foil and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
- Tastes like cabbage rolls, but easier to prepare.
