Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground veal
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large head cabbage

Method

  • Separate leaves from cabbage and preboil them in salt water. Mix all the ingredients except cabbage leaves in a large bowl. Line the bottom of a 9 x 9-inch pan with cabbage leaves.
  • Spoon a layer of the meat mixture onto the leaves, then layer again with cabbage leaves and meat mixture.
  • Top with cabbage leaves.
  • Cover the pan with foil and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Tastes like cabbage rolls, but easier to prepare.
