Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 6 Tbsp. corn meal
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 small cans milk (1 1/3 c.)
- 2 small cans water (1 1/3 c.)
- 1 stick butter
- 4 to 6 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 (9-inch) cooked pie crusts
Method
- Mix dry ingredients together in a saucepan.
- Add milk and water.
- Mix well.
- Add beaten egg yolks, butter and vanilla.
- Cook over low heat until thick (like banana pudding).
- Pour into cooked crusts; top with beaten egg whites.
- Cook in 350° oven about 10 minutes or until brown.
- Best if a little cool.
